Synexis Selected by Second Largest Production Facility in the U.S. to Reduce Microbial Burden in Occupied Spaces

Pinewood Atlanta Studios Sets New Standards for Movie Production

LENEXA, KS — [June 25, 2020]—Synexis®, LLC is pleased to announce another significant installation of its antimicrobial devices at Pinewood Atlanta Studios. The biodefense company’s patented Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP™) technology will be used to continuously reduce viruses, bacteria and mold in the air and on surfaces within Pinewood Atlanta Studios’ 1M+ square feet of indoor studio and office space.

“We found a natural partner in Pinewood Atlanta Studios and were able to customize a plan incorporating DHP to meet their unique needs,” said Eric Schlote, Synexis Chief Executive Officer. “The Synexis biodefense system supplies continuous protection without disturbing studio and production workflow which is important to keeping production on time. Once installed it is always working.”

The 700+-acre film and entertainment site in Georgia is home to more than 50 production related businesses, and the set of recent blockbusters like Avengers: End Game and Ant Man and the Wasp. The company recently announced its new technology-led health and safety efforts to re-open production, with Synexis DHP technology included as a key component for microbial reduction in occupied spaces.

“We’re committed to making Pinewood Atlanta Studios the cleanest and most secure production facility in the world and Synexis helps us achieve that goal,” said Frank Patterson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pinewood Atlanta Studios. “We meticulously examined our systems and the way in which people interact on our lot to choose a technology solution. When production restarts, we want all crew members to know we have prioritized investing in technology that can reduce microbial activity and provide a clean working environment.”

Synexis created a custom plan for Pinewood Atlanta Studios due to its unique needs and workspace. Invented with occupied space in mind, DHP technology reduces the microbial burden in the air and on surfaces throughout the facility including hard to reach or remote areas not typically addressed in intermittent cleaning. Synexis technology actively deploys DHP into the environment to reduce viruses and other airborne germs. This technology has been implemented by hospitals, retail shops, restaurants chains, government institutions, as well as the food industry.
