This environment is being continuously treated by the Synexis Microbial Reduction System

What is Synexis?

Pinewood Atlanta Studios has introduced a new technology at our studio facility intended to help make this the safest and cleanest studio production work environment in the world.

Synexis is a patented, and proprietary biodefense system, that effectively and safely reduces microbial threats in occupied spaces without disrupting day-to-day operations, treating both the air and physical surfaces continuously. The Synexis system is effective in reducing contaminants such as viruses, bacteria and mold. DHP even reduces volatile organic compounds (odors) and insects.

How does it work?

The technology uses existing, ambient air to create a safe and effective molecule known as Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP), to actively seek out viruses, bacteria and fungi in the air and on surfaces.

Is Synexis Safe?

Yes! DHP is deployed at 5-25 parts per billion. This produces extremely effective microbial reduction at incredibly safe levels of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). A single Synexis unit would have to run continuously for 2.5 years to reach the concentration of 1 droplet of a 3% aqueous solution of H2O2. DHP concentrations fall far below acceptable safety limits for human exposure established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

What Makes Our Technology Different?

The Synexis Microbial Reduction System offers a paradigm-shifting capability for microbial reduction in occupied spaces because it is continuous, comprehensive and automated. Synexis DHP allows PAS to achieve the ongoing reduction of microbial threats by addressing the viruses, bacteria and other compounds present in the air and on surfaces continuously-during and after environmental services cleaning.

Will It Degrade My Equipment?

No! Oxidation and degrading of materials are not a problem with Dry Hydrogen Peroxide technology. This includes such things like cell phones, computers, plastics etc.

Is it the Same as UV Filters or HEPA Filters?

No! UV or HEPA filtration systems only filter the air through HVAC systems, which is known as catch and kill air filtration. The Synexis technology actively and continuously treats the air and is effective on all surfaces, which air filtration does not address.
